Boxing and History is a blog/portfolio created by Roberto José Andrade Franco, a history PhD candidate at SMU in Dallas, Texas. He is a historian specializing in boxing and how it forms various identities. The articles, informed by archival research as well as primary and secondary sources, show the societal importance of boxing – a sport whose historical perceptions are often contradictory but always viewed as a symbol of much more.

Not all posts will be exclusively about boxing or sports.
